METHODOLOGY & WORKFLOW

Termite Treatment Guide: Professional Methodology

A disciplined, property-specific approach covering forensic inspection, structural assessment, targeted drill-and-infusion barriers, and monitoring.

Why Subterranean Termites Require Site-Specific Methods

Subterranean termites nest underground or inside concealed masonry voids. Because no two properties share the exact same foundation design, soil profile, or interior woodwork layout, SLV Pest Control does not apply a rigid, one-size-fits-all formula.

Instead, our technicians determine the optimal treatment method—whether precision drill-and-infusion along baseboard skirtings, sub-slab soil barriers, or woodwork void injection—based on documented inspection findings, structural building materials, and resident safety.

TREATMENT JOURNEY

Our 4-Stage Treatment Journey

01

Property Inspection

Identify visible signs, affected areas and potential termite pathways.

An experienced SLV Pest Control technician conducts an on-site structural evaluation. We inspect skirting boards, wooden door and window frames, built-in wardrobes, plumbing wall penetrations, and foundation perimeter zones to document active galleries and structural vulnerabilities.

02

Assessment

Determine the treatment approach based on the property, construction and inspection findings.

Because construction styles differ substantially across independent villas, high-rise apartments, and commercial facilities, every treatment protocol is tailored individually. We assess wall linear footage, flooring materials (marble, vitrified tile, granite, or wood), and the extent of structural penetration before recommending a service plan.

03

Targeted Treatment

Apply the appropriate treatment to identified areas using the selected treatment method.

Using specialized equipment, precision holes (typically 6mm to 8mm) are drilled along wall-floor skirting junctions, door jamb bases, and masonry joints at calibrated intervals. Government-approved, non-repellent liquid termiticide is infused under pressure to form an invisible chemical barrier. Holes are subsequently restored with color-matched aesthetic sealant.

Follow-up & Monitoring

Provide appropriate monitoring and follow-up guidance based on the treatment requirements.

Following chemical barrier placement, we provide property-specific monitoring instructions to track colony disruption. Guidance is provided on observing treated surfaces, managing moisture sources, and scheduling follow-up assistance according to the service agreement.

How Precision Drill-and-Infusion Barriers Work

Traditional repellent chemicals merely turned foraging termites around, causing them to exploit alternative untreated cracks in adjacent rooms. Modern professional termiticides utilize non-repellent active formulations.

1. Undetected PassageForaging termites cannot smell or detect the treated chemical zone in the masonry.
2. Horizontal TransferWorkers pick up microscopic molecules on their cuticle and carry them back underground.
3. Colony DisruptionThrough natural mutual grooming and trophallaxis, the active agent disseminates within the nest.

Factual Treatment Expectations

Treatment duration and exact scope vary depending on the linear running footage of masonry treated, accessibility of woodwork, and structural complexity. We do not invent fixed arbitrary durations or promise instantaneous permanent eradication. Professional termite management is a disciplined engineering and biological process backed by ongoing monitoring.
